GETTING OLD!

Happy Birthday
WESLEY ROSS MADSEN
11 YRS OLD

For school in science class Wesley had to make a volcano replica.
He has been fascinated ever since.

Wesley is Mr. Adventure. He really reminds me of Huckleberry Finn.
He is always out in the back yard by the slough? That is the nieghbors terms for stream. You can find him there fishing, treasure hunting, or raft making.

This year Wesley went on his very first hunt with Brian. He couldn't wait for the day to come. Brian and Wesley went to AZ for a Javelina hunt. Wesley shot this one from 160 yards. It took only one shot. Brian said that Wesley was jumping up and down, hands in the air and cheering with excitement.

I think it is a big Rodent, but Brian swears it is a kind of pig? It reminds me of those over sized rodents off of The Princess Bride. You know the ones the people were attacked by in the Fire Swamp. (R.O.U.S. rodent of unusually size) Anyway they stink and look ugly. The locals love to have their meat and make sausage and other things out of it. I had no objections.

Where do your children play?

My little Annie is where I am and at my feet most of the time.
She is my little tag along.
Hanging in daddy's boots while I am doing laundry.

This is why only garbage bags are under the sink.

Why the drawer?

she loves the Tupperware?

Too much fun (trouble) in the refrigerator.

This is our little ANNIE.

December

Gingerbread house party with The Mortimer crew. Wow the house was full. The gingerbread house did not make it this year. The frosting just would not set up and the kids loved the candy this year and ate most of it. Wesley said that an earthquake happened and then the gingerbread house tumbled.

Try making cookies with 4. We love cookies! Santa has to have our special cookies the kids always say. It sure was crazy and messy!

Annie found books this month and sits and goes through the pages. Tearing the pages is more like it. But you have to start the love of reading young. That is why she got board books for Christmas.
temple square. It was cold! Thank goodness for hot chocolate to warm up the insides after seeing the pretty lights.

Christmas Day

Having four kids wanting help and attention this is all I got for pictures. Christmas was so fun this year and the kids loved everything!

Jazz Game

Jazz vs. Spurs
What a fun night we had just the two of us. 11th row can you believe it. It would have made a even better night if the Jazz would have won. We had some crazy man yelling with his New York accent the whole first half. Then he strangely disappeared the second half.

Tree Decorating

Children STYLE: (verb): putting decorations all over the tree anywhere they please. Even if the tree is lopsided and decorations are not on top (where they can't reach) or bottom ( just didn't think about bending down).

I do not choose to decorated the Christmas tree. In the beginning of having kids I tried to decorate the tree just the way I wanted it, but that turned into sadness and frown faces so now I give that privilege to the kids. With Christmas music blaring and Santa hats on. We get the tree done with a whole lot of fun and dancing.

Oh so there is no arguing the whole evening Brian puts the star on the top of the tree. We forget who did it each year. Lost track of the order. So easy enough Daddy gets to do it.

First Snow

First real snow fall of the winter season.
I have not spent a full winter in Utah for probably 7 years.
Thank goodness for hot chocolate.
I forgot how kids love to get dressed up in their snow clothes
one minute then undressed the next.
Also these kids did it every five minutes.
Just love the white stuff!
